Richard Arnold's Tree Gallery

Many years ago I came across an old tree. One of the lower branches caught my eye and the more I looked the more it seemed a dragons head was staring back at me. Intrigued I did some sketches, took some photos and played around with the results back home. It was one of those instances where it evolved as I had imaged it would. Finally when I was happy with the preparatory work, I produced an A2 ink drawing called the Dragon Tree. This idea took root – so to speak - and since then I began to see shapes, patterns and forms in other trees.
